Logging

Concrete's Logging feature records significant system events, aiding in monitoring and troubleshooting your website. Accessing and managing these logs is straightforward through the Dashboard.

Note: Regularly reviewing and managing logs helps maintain your website’s health and security. Ensure that logging settings align with your site’s operational requirements.

Accessing Logs

  1. Navigate to the Dashboard:
    • Click on the Dashboard icon in the top-right corner of your Concrete Toolbar.
  2. Go to Reports:
    • In the Dashboard menu, select Reports.
  3. Select Logs:
    • Within the Reports section, click on Logs to view recorded events.

Understanding Log Entries

Each log entry provides details about specific events:

  • Date and Time: When the event occurred.
  • Severity Level: Indicates the importance of the event (e.g., Info, Warning, Error).
  • Channel: Categorizes the source of the event (e.g., system, application).
  • Message: A description of the event.

Filtering and Searching Logs

To efficiently search logs:

  • Filter by Severity: Use the dropdown to select events of a specific severity level.
  • Filter by Channel: Choose a particular channel to view related events.
  • Date Range: Specify a start and end date to view logs within that period.
  • Search Keywords: Enter keywords to find specific log entries.

Managing Log Settings

To configure logging preferences:

  1. Navigate to System & Settings:
    • In the Dashboard, go to System & Settings.
  2. Select Environment:
    • Under the Environment section, click on Logging Settings.
  3. Configure Logging Options:
    • Enable or disable logging for specific events, such as errors or emails.
    • Set log retention policies to manage the duration logs are kept.
