Removing Unused Functionality

Concrete CMS offers a wide array of features to accommodate diverse website needs. However, not all functionalities may be necessary for every site. As an administrator, you can streamline the user experience by removing or restricting unused features.

Restricting Access to Page Templates and Page Types

To control which Page Templates and Page Types are available to specific users or groups:

  1. Navigate to Page Templates/Page Types:
    • Go to the Dashboard.
    • Click on Pages & Themes.
    • Select Page Types.
  2. Set Permissions:
    • Click on the Permissions button next to the Page Type you wish to modify.
    • Adjust the settings to specify which users or groups have access.
    • Click on Basic Details to specify which Page Templates can be used with the selected Page Type.

By configuring these permissions, you can ensure that only relevant templates and types are available to your content editors.

Removing Unnecessary Blocks

To prevent the use of certain blocks that are not needed:

  1. Access Block Types:
    • From the Dashboard, navigate to Blocks.
  2. Manage Block Access:
    • Locate the block you want to restrict.
    • Click on Permissions.
    • Set the appropriate access levels for users or groups.

Alternatively, to remove a block entirely:

  1. Uninstall the Block:
    • In the Dashboard, go to Extend Concrete.
    • Click on Add-Ons.
    • Find the block in the list.
    • Click Uninstall to remove it from your site.

This approach helps maintain a clean and efficient editing environment by eliminating unnecessary options.

    • Navigate to System & Settings in the Dashboard.
  2. Disable Specific Features:
    • Browse through the settings to locate the feature you wish to disable.
    • Adjust the settings to turn off or restrict the feature as needed.
